Changing and Saving Lives

In Kimilili, western Kenya

Health

Dreamland Mission Hospital sees over 50,000 patients per year with treatment for a huge range of illnesses and injuries.

Education

With over 100 students fully sponsored from nursery all the way through to university, we are changing futures.

Community

Our 8 local units are the engine room of our work. Our teams in local communities work hard to identify needs that arise in their locality.

What We Do

We’re a UK-registered Christian charity with a mission to support IcFEM – a Kenyan organisation that’s changing lives. IcFEM* is based in Kimilili, western Kenya, and integrates care for the physical and spiritual needs of the people with community development.

We exist to empower rural communities by helping them become self-sufficient both spiritually and practically. Over the years, we’ve witnessed the impact of our work first-hand – from sponsoring students to receive an education, providing life-changing medical treatment, to reuniting families through our transformation units.

Lives Changed

Before surgery

Sun Nillan was born with a cleft lip.  His mother Noel was so shocked about it that she decided she would always hide her son away from people.  Thankfully, she had good friends who encouraged her to seek help.  At one hospital she was told the cost of the surgery would be 100,000 Kenyan Shillings (about 10 months’ wages).  Then the family was told about Dreamland Mission Hospital.

After surgery

Sun’s mother brought him to Dreamland Mission Hospital and they received a warm welcome from the staff.  The cleft lip surgery was successful and the family wasn’t asked to pay for anything – the fees were covered by generous donors.  They are incredible grateful and relieved and Sun’s mother is now happy to show him off to everyone.

Before surgery

After a year of her eyesight gradually deteriorating, Florence was diagnosed with cataracts at a local hospital but she couldn’t afford to pay the fees for the surgery.  One day her son told her about Dreamland Mission Hospital.  Since she was totally blind, her husband escorted her there where they learned that the fees would be taken care of by well-wishers.

After surgery

The surgery went well and Florence is now back at home, a living testimony in her village. “Sight means independence; I can now do everything on my own.  Thank you, Dreamland, for saving my sight.”

Student sponsorship

This is Daniel – he’s one of 8 children in his family.  Several of his siblings have had to drop out of school because their parents were unable to pay the school fees.  Thankfully, a generous donor is sponsoring Daniel’s fees at Dreamland Education Centre.

Thriving

Daniel has gone from being a shy young man to a confident leader. The family is overjoyed to have been given the chance to have their child sponsored and educated in a very good school.
