Theatre update

We’re excited to report that Phase 1 of our new theatre block is almost complete. The equipment has been installed and, as well as the theatre, we now have two dedicated recovery areas, a scrubbing up area and a staff changing area. The new theatre will allow us to have one theatre for emergencies such as C-sections or surgery required as a result of road accidents or other trauma, and one theatre for elective surgeries such as clubfoot and cleft lip. This would not have been possible without your support and prayers. Thank you!

Phase 2 of the project will see the remaining space in the theatre block finished and equipped as another working theatre. We are seeking to raise roughly £50,000 to get this fully complete. We’d appreciate your prayers for this and, if you’d like to give, you can do so through our Giving page.

Please pray for us to be able to impact more lives through this new theatre block and the A&E block which is progressing well. With our increased capacity, our goal is to be performing 1500+ surgeries per year. We want to avoid unnecessary referrals and stress on the families of those with surgical requirements. We believe we can achieve this with God’s help and guidance

Big Give Update

A big thank you to all those who gave to our Big Give Christmas Challenge. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and support! We surpassed our target and successfully raised £7,036! These gifts will fund sight-restoring cataract surgeries for 150 people in the Kimilili region in 2025.

Pictured is Jane N, who lost her eyesight due to cataracts and could no longer work but had to rely on her granddaughter to care for her. Following the surgery her sight was restored and she is now back working and her granddaughter is back at school!

Thank you for making such a meaningful impact!

Dreamland Education Centre

Dreamland Education Centre (DEC) is a place where children can thrive and achieve their full potential. As a result of our sponsorship programme, many children have continued to received access to good education. We are looking for new sponsors for children who don’t currently have one – is this something you could consider?  If so, please click here for more information.

Twelve students successfully completed their Form 4 exams last November and have received their results. Please pray for them as they hope to go on to higher education.

Mercy’s story:

Mercy Nasimiyu Wekesa from Maeni Local Transformation Unit (LTU) sat for her exams and passed with a B-. She shares that it was the LTU that identified her as a needy student and, with a thirst for learning, she worked hard and achieved good results.

Mercy is deeply grateful to God for bringing a sponsor into her life, enabling her to complete high school successfully. She now prays and hopes for the opportunity to continue her education by joining university.

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do for these children if it wasn’t for the support we receive from those who sponsor our pupils.

Prayer Request:

Please pray for God to bring more sponsors, so we can impact the lives of many more children like Mercy. We are particularly in need of sponsors for Secondary and Higher education.

Dreamland in the community

Bee’s Project:

Our Bees project continues to thrive and impact the lives of many farmers in Kimilili. We thank God that all 32 farmers with beehives have harvested honey from their hives this season.

An update from one of our farmers:

Suzan Malimba together with her husband from Maeni LTU, one of the beneficiaries of the beekeeping project. Suzan testifies that the project has enabled her to pay part of the school fees for their children who are in school. She is grateful for the project and keen to increase the number of hives she has from 5 to 10 soon.

If you would like to gift someone like Suzan an opportunity to earn an income to support their family, you can do so by buying them a beehive Gift for Life.

Village Discipleship Schools (VDS)

We thank God for the 17 Village Discipleship Schools that meet in six LTUs, with over 250 students between them. Pray for the 14 mentors who are facilitating the training, for wisdom and their own deepening understanding of the Bible. Please also pray for the VDS Mentors Workshop taking place in early February.
