Stella was born with a cleft lip and grew up facing stigma and isolation. When her daughter, Joyline, was born with the same condition, Stella’s family situation became even more difficult—her husband, overcome by shame and misinformation, abandoned them.
A local chief shared Stella’s story with Rose, Dreamland Mission Hospital’s community advocate. Rose visited Stella and encouraged her to seek treatment at Dreamland. There, both Stella and her daughter received free corrective surgeries.
The transformation has been profound. Stella has regained her confidence, and her daughter has begun smiling freely. After her second surgery and ongoing speech therapy, Joyline is now on her way to speaking clearly.
The most unexpected miracle came when Stella’s husband, moved by the remarkable change, returned to his family.
“This hospital did not just heal us physically—it restored my family,” says Stella.
