Our Village Discipleship Schools (VDS) are fellowships of believers who come together for Bible study, fellowship and encouragement. One such VDS meets at a church at Chepkube on Mt. Elgon. One of the believers there gave us this encouraging testimony:
“My name is Everline Nabalayo. I retired from teaching unsure of how to serve in the church, even though many people encouraged me to do so. By God’s grace, I discovered VDS, and I’m grateful for the warm welcome I received. Through this programme I have gained knowledge that has deepened my understanding of God and strengthened my confidence in reading the Bible. Where I once struggled, I can now recall verses and engage with Scripture in a meaningful way.
“As the training continues, I feel increasingly equipped to serve. VDS has become my place of learning, empowering me to teach and lead with understanding. It has even brought new harmony into my home, since my husband is also a student. When we disagree, we now turn to the Bible for guidance, and this shared foundation has strengthened our relationship.
“Retirement can feel lonely, but VDS has given me community, joy, and new friendships. My relationships have improved, I no longer hold grudges, and others seek my advice. The knowledge I’ve gained is transforming not only my life but the wider community. I am thankful to IcFEM for initiating this programme, which is helping so many.”
