Three year old Cynthia was brought to DMH by her mother, who had noticed that she often stumbled – every step she took was unsteady. An assessment in the orthopaedics department revealed tightness in her Achilles tendons, affecting her balance and posture.
Cynthia’s mum feared that her daughter might never run or play freely but the physiotherapist reassured her that with patience, consistency and care, recovery was possible.
Week after week, Cynthia came for therapy. The stretches were painful, and her little legs trembled, but guided by the therapist’s gentle encouragement, she grew stronger with each session.
After nine months of regular therapy, Cynthia showed significant improvement. She now stands tall, walks confidently, and runs without stumbling. Her laughter fills the air as she runs around with her friends—proof of her courage and the care she received.
“Seeing Cynthia run without falling brings tears of joy,” her mother says proudly. “I never imagined this day would come.”
